shine on.

Being fortunate enough to have neighbors that care for a beautiful garden and the addition of a steady hand in low light I was able to create one of my favourite photographs. The stark bokeh coupled with the sharpness of the bamboo creates a wayward blend of movement and composition.

On boring summer days I take my car through the Californian landscape listening for water. This was composed with a wide angle lens, no neutral density filter or polarizer.

rue the whirl.

I'm confident there are many land owners who have had the annoyance of my trespass. With my back facing the Sutter Buttes a cow came to visit me seconds after this moment.

A direct opposite of the photograph above, with the tree behind me a vast valley ahead provided a huge amount of blur.

run away, fly away.

For me this image marks two hours of hurling rocks in the general direction of a flock of birds in the middle of summer to try to make them fly, sweating until my camera was soaked, and being in a poor mood until my wishes were granted.

My brother modelled a personal photography project that consisted of visualizing an album. I chose In Flames' Soundtrack To Your Escape as a launching point, and the images evolved into an eerie collection.

Tragically my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer which necessitated a full mastectomy, and a second soon to come. Being the most important person in my life the least I could do is document the strength and courage displayed by a woman who has dedicated her life to fostering and raising neglected children.
